After the death of her daughter, Julia Lofting, a wealthy housewife, moves to London to re-start her life. All seems well until she is haunted by the sadness of losing her own child and the ghosts of other children.

A very pregnant Francesca (Patty Duke) travels from LA to Duluth, Minnesota to meet t he mother of her deceased husband (and father of her unborn child). There she meets the brittle and creepy Mrs. Kinsolving (Rosemary Murphy), who takes an instant loathing of the poor woman. When a blizzard traps Francesca at Kinsolving’s creepy mansion, the young woman is trapped. And things are about to get much worse when the psychotic Kenny arrives (Richard Thomas, John Boy from “The Waltons”)!
